If you choose to visit us in the Winter, you may see some snow, as we are one of the snowiest locations in Georgia, and just a short jaunt away, you can find skiing, snow tubing, and ice skating. There's nothing more beautiful than our snow-topped mountains!
Come in the Spring, and you can enjoy seeing orchards and vineyards bloom. The new growth displays beautiful colors and in all shades and there's nothing like a cool hike on the mountain trails.  The whitewater rivers flow with water from the melting snows.

 

In 2015, the Georgia House of Representatives designated Rabun County as the Farm to Table Capital of Georgia. We have 6 dedicated Farm to Table restaurants, but many of our other restaurants use farm-fresh produce regularly. It’s a way of life. One of the great things to do in Rabun County, GA is a visit to the local farmer's markets for fresh produce as it abounds in the springtime. Summer activities include whitewater rafting or tubing, swimming or fishing in one of our beautiful lakes and rivers, and attending outdoor festivals. You'll love our fourth of July celebrations, BBQ, and music festivals. Fall brings our autumn harvest of fruit and vegetables, the gorgeous colors of red, yellow and orange leaves, cooler days and evenings. Bike or hike the trails, go canoeing on the river, check out the local corn mazes, or visit one of our beautiful National Parks.
